It&#8217;s like an invitation to come and see the place live, with my own eyes. <p>And that&#8217;s why I love <a href="http://swajana.com">Swajana</a>. As of writing they have 6 videos on <a href="http://swajana.com/category/video/">archive</a>, featuring people, events and scenes in everyday life in India. I especially love those videos they did on <a href="http://swajana.com/2006/12/29/nai-a-pavement-barber/">Nai, A Pavement Barber</a>, <a href="http://swajana.com/2007/01/15/pottery/">Pottery</a>, and the <a href="http://swajana.com/2007/01/22/the-flower-maiden/">Flower Maiden</a> (can you tell I find people stories most amazing?). All videos were professionally shot and edited, I almost feel guilty watching them for free.</p>

The month of August will be filled with parades, cultural performances, street shows and carnivals to commemorate this event, all of which will culminate at the Merdeka Day on 31st August.
In preparation for this event, the Ministry of Tourism has prepared this four-and-a-half minute promotional video.
