Let’s Visit Asia

I was going through the photos we took on our last trip to the Philippines and came across this photo of an uninhabited island between Panglao and Balicasag islands in Bohol. That’s me on the photo, marveling at the spectacular wonder of nature spread out before me.

The island itself is tiny, probably not more than a few hundred square meters and is locally referred to as Virgin Island, presumably because it is uninhabited (to date, at least). As you all recall, I’ve just relocated back to Asia in June this year, and this is the first time I’m spending Christmas holidays here, after so many years. Hm, while I do enjoy living and traveling in the region, I have to admit it feels strange to be celebrating Christmas at 30 degrees Celsius. It might have been different had I been in a largely Christian country such as the Philippines, but here in Singapore, it just feels a wee bit… unusual, to say the least.

Warm waters, white sand, reliable sunny weather. A lifetime will probably not be enough to explore all the wonderful beaches in Asia. But if you press me to narrow it down to 5, here are the top five beaches, in alphabetical order, which I would like to see and visit in the next few years (not that I have any intention of dying anytime soon):
