On May 28, 2008, Nepal elected to end 240 years of monarchy rule, giving 60-year-old King Gyanendra 15 days to pack up and clear out. I don’t know about you but it never fails to get me all giddy and excited after I’ve made the first concrete steps in planning a trip. Sure, just thinking about going somewhere, even surfing around the web for possibilities already gets me hyped up, but when I’ve actually made the first tangible step — a reservation, whether for a plane ticket or accommodation –that’s when the adrenaline starts pumping.
