Tiger Airways Now Charges for Checked-in Luggage

Tiger Airways Now Charges for Checked-in Luggage

Yowza, budget airline Tiger Airways is now charging extra fees for checked in luggages!
I’ve been watching similar developments in US-based airlines the last several weeks and was hoping the trend wouldn’t reach this part of the sky. Ugh, wishful thinking. Tiger has followed the lead of Air Asia on charging fees for checked in baggages.

Tiger Airlines’ Early Bird Fares

Tiger Airlines’ Early Bird Fares

As with other airlines, the earlier you book, the more likelihood you have of getting better priced airfares. But that is even more true with budget airlines. Singapore-based budget airline Tiger Airlines, for example, offer “Early Bird Fares” all year round.
Book as early as three months in advance and you can find early bird fares for as low as $1.99 one-way (excluding taxes and surcharges), such as those between Singapore and Hat Yai, Krabi (Phi Phi) or Phuket.
Just go to Tiger Airways and check out the airfares and flight availabilities there.

Choose Your Seats on Tiger Airways

Choose Your Seats on Tiger Airways

One of the annoying issues with budget airlines is that they normally don’t give seat assignments. You get your boarding pass, but as soon as the boarding announcement is made, people rush into the aircraft to secure their seats, especially those who are travelling in pairs or groups and therefore want to be seated together during the flight.
If you want to save yourself such stress, you can now pre-select your seats aboard Tiger Airways. For an additional fee of S$5, you can choose any of the standard seats, or for a higher fee of S$25, you can have an emergency …read more

“The early bird catches the worm.” That’s Tiger Airways’ motto for their current promo. Book early enough and you can find fares as low as S$1.99 one-way. For example, I tried checking the fares online, and saw that if you book now, you can get a one-way fare from Singapore to Phuket in July for just S$1.88.

Some people say they get the best deals by booking last minute. I say save yourself the stress and book way ahead instead. Plan your travel months ahead and you’ll be surprised how much you can save, not only on airfare, but also on …read more
