A friend of mine emailed some illustrations of the future casino currently under construction in Sentosa Island in Singapore, set to open early in 2010. I can’t post them here as I can’t trace the origins and provide credit, but they are basically the same as those featured in the headers of the Resorts World Sentosa website.
I am awed at those illustrations, not just with the sheer expanse and attractions planned, but mainly because it’s blows my mind that something so extraordinary and sophisticated can rise from a site that currently looks like this:

Sentosa for Seniors: Getting There and Around

Although it is being marketed as a hip and happening destination for the younger crowd, there’s one good reason why Sentosa is also a good place for seniors traveling in Singapore: you can get there and around with minimal walking.

We went to Sentosa via the Sentosa Express from Vivo City (cost: S$3 per adult, includes entrance fee to the island) and hopped off at the Beach Station. Singapore for Seniors

My mom’s visiting us here in Singapore and I’m at a loss with where to bring her. She’s not exactly at the pink of health, having already had a stroke, a triple bypass, a gall bladder op, and other aging-related maladies over the last few years. She can’t do walking tours anymore, be it trhough the city or through a park. She’s not interested in shopping and is scared of heights, so no cable car, no DHL Balloon, and no Singapore Flyer.

Genting International, a developer and operator of resort casinos in Malaysia and the Philippines, has unveiled their plans for the Resorts World at Sentosa, a project to which they have committed S$5 billion.
According to their plans, there will be something for both the young and the not-so-young visitors. They’d like to project it as a family destination. here are some of the planned attractions:
