Organizing your bus transportation within India has just become a bit more convenient as Make My Trip expands its range of offerings to include bus ticket bookings.

Just like booking an airline flight, all you have to do is to enter your travel dates, points of departure and destination, and seat. You can use a credit card, debit card or an internet enabled online bank account to pay for your bookings. And like airline bookings, you will then be issued an e-ticket, which you need to present upon boarding together with some form of identification.

Out of the many out there, which website do you use to book your accommodations online? Which website do you find easiest to use? Which offers the best room rates?
Often, I consult 2-3 websites to book my travel needs, compare the rates offered, and book from that which returns the best offer. Although I have my favorites, they don’t consistently show the best rates, and sometimes I’m surprised to find better offers from websites I wold never have thought of checking out.

Yowza, budget airline Tiger Airways is now charging extra fees for checked in luggages!
I’ve been watching similar developments in US-based airlines the last several weeks and was hoping the trend wouldn’t reach this part of the sky. Ugh, wishful thinking. Tiger has followed the lead of Air Asia on charging fees for checked in baggages.

Starting July 2008, Jetstar Asia will be offering daily flights between Singapore and Phnom Penh in Cambodia, either with four non-stop flights weekly or via Siem Reap thrice weekly on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays.
That means you can now fly from Singapore to Siem Reap, stop there for a few days, dive and take a peek into Cambodia’s past (and see where Angelina Jolie’s Tomb Raider was filmed). Then you have the option of either heading back, or flying further to Phnom Penh for more gallivanting.

Thanks to upgrades put into place, you can now enjoy special web fares when you book international and domestic airfares online from the Philippine Airlines website.

I played around with it for a while, and though the process seems to be quite user-friendly, the fares for international destinations within Southeast Asia do not seem to be competitive to the fares you’d get from budget airlines servicing the region. I receive a lot of comments and emails asking for help on getting quotes from airlines, particularly budget airlines. Actually, it’s really just easy folks and if you just go to the websites of the airlines you’re interested booking, you’d find that the procedure is real easy-peasy and user friendly.
