Resorts World Sentosa, July 2008

A friend of mine emailed some illustrations of the future casino currently under construction in Sentosa Island in Singapore, set to open early in 2010. I can’t post them here as I can’t trace the origins and provide credit, but they are basically the same as those featured in the headers of the Resorts World Sentosa website.
I am awed at those illustrations, not just with the sheer expanse and attractions planned, but mainly because it’s blows my mind that something so extraordinary and sophisticated can rise from a site that currently looks like this:

Hotel Review: Venetian Macau

Hotel Review: Venetian Macau

There is a nicely-written review at NY times of the humongous Venetian Macao, which opened about half a year ago. It seems that while the property and the suites are truly awesome in terms of its size, there’s a lot left to be desired. Read for yourself.
If I were to go in Macau, I’d make absolutely sure to see this enormous place. Just the expanse and range of amenities is utterly mind-boggling. It’s not a hotel, it’s a city in itself! Summer Fun Games at Mandarin Oriental, Macau

Summer Fun Games at Mandarin Oriental, Macau

Off to try your luck at the Macau casinos? Bring the kids along! To Macau, I mean, not to the casinos!
If you book yourselves at the Mandarin Oriental, you can get them involved in the summer fun games organized by the hotel. Or, if there are enough kids participating (kids from your gambling colleagues, perhaps?), they can all go on a horse-riding tour, or engage in pool water fun games.
Heck you can join in on the fun, too. Afterall, the casinos don’t open til late in the evening!
See Mandarin Oriental’s website to see what awaits you and your kids.
