Bali is one of Travel+Leisure’s top recommendations where to spend Christmas this year.
Why Go:
-Miles of terraced rice paddies
-Instead of carols, the haunting sound of the gamelan gong
-Watching Christmas Eve sunset at the island temple of Tanah Lot.
If you’re after a totally different and untraditional Christmas, then this destination is for you. Personally, much as I love Asia, I still prefer snow, pine trees and a warm eggnog during Christmastime.

Warm waters, white sand, reliable sunny weather. A lifetime will probably not be enough to explore all the wonderful beaches in Asia. But if you press me to narrow it down to 5, here are the top five beaches, in alphabetical order, which I would like to see and visit in the next few years (not that I have any intention of dying anytime soon):

While budget airlines can save you a lot of $$$, not everyone seems to be happy with the service. That there are no meals served and that there limited (or virtually no) services for the disabled and those needing extra attention, is acceptable. But overly delayed flights? Here’s an account from someone quite annoyed with AirAsia to say the least, and with reason:
