Traveling in Bad Weather

I’ve always offered Asia as a winter get-away destination, particularly to those of you who want to escape the cold and dark days of winter. However, nowadays, even I am getting the blues right here in the tropics. It’s been rainy and dreary over the last few weeks here in my part of the sky, and my heart goes to all of the tourists who’ve come from far places expecting sunny and warm weather. Well, it’s still warm, but sunny, it isn’t. :(

Often, weather affects our perception of a foreign country. If I look back, the places I’m not so fond of are those which I saw in a bleak weather. Inconvenient to tour around, uncomfortable, and the photos were just not vivid enough. If I get to stay in the place for just a few days, and it’s been raining or cold and dark during most of my stay, it kinda dampen the whole experience. On the other hand, one may look at it as a reason to go back, to check it out on better weather.

What do you think? Does the weather affect your wanderlust?

rainy and dreary: that’s bicolandia this last quarter of the year. it’s so depressing. 1-2 days sunny and then weeks of continuous rain. no wonder I am such a couch potato! :-)
