Philippine Airlines Upgrades Online Booking
Thanks to upgrades put into place, you can now enjoy special web fares when you book international and domestic airfares online from the Philippine Airlines website.
I played around with it for a while, and though the process seems to be quite user-friendly, the fares for international destinations within Southeast Asia do not seem to be competitive to the fares you’d get from budget airlines servicing the region. On the other hand, there are perks to flying with PAL that you won’t enjoy if you’re flying a no-frills airline. For one, you get meals. You also get to land at the international airport in Manila and not in a town another hour’s drive away.
I like the way you can do “Lowest Fare Calendar Search” for domestic flights, though. You input your preferred travel dates, and it will show you not only the airfares on your selected travel dates, but also the fares 3 days before and after your travel date. So if you’re a little bit flexible, you can opt to travel on another (cheaper) day and save a few bucks.
