Tickets to First A380 Flight, Up for Bidding
It’s been the talk of the travel town since Singapore Airlines made the announcement more than a week ago, but I’m still posting it here in case you haven’t read it yet: Singapore Airlines will auction the tickets to the A380 maiden voyage from Singapore to Sydney in October 2007 on eBay!
The proceeds of the auction will be split evenly between the following exceptionally worthwhile organisations:
• One-third to Singapore’s Community Chest
• One-third split between the Sydney Children’s Hospital, Randwick, and The Children’s Hospital at Westmead, both in Sydney
• One-third to Médecins Sans Frontières, also known as Doctors Without Borders.
I am absolutely excited at the prospect of flying this humongous aircraft, but at the same time, I’m filled with anxiety. I know I’m going to fly this machine one day, and while I envy those who’ll be on the maiden flight, I’m also pretty happy to wait til they’re sure they’ve ironed out all kinks and technical details ;).
How much would you pay for a ticket to be on the first-ever commercial A380 flight?
