Google Maps on Your Mobile
Since I don’t have a navigation system, I have often used Google Maps to locate my destinations and figure out how to get there. Well, Google made took one step further and made it easier, by enabling one to use Google Maps on their mobiles! With its GPS functionality, it can replace most of the important functions of a navigator:
GPS functionality — Know where you are while on the go. (You’re the little blue dot.)
Real-time traffic — See where the congestion is, and estimate delays in over 30 major US metropolitan areas.Detailed directions — Whether you plan to walk or drive, your route is displayed on the map itself, together with step-by-step directions.
Integrated search results — Local business locations and contact information appear all in one place, integrated on your map.
Easily movable maps — Interactive, draggable maps lets you zoom in or out, and move in all directions so you can orient yourself visually.
Satellite imagery — Get a bird’s eye view of your desired location.
See if it works on your mobile browser and download maps here. No guarantee how well it works in Asian cities, though.
