Airfares: Travel Agent or Online?

On the way to the Philippines, I’ve got the best airfare deal so far on last minute booking. I had a reservation from my travel agent that fell through, so I resorted to booking online at the last minute… and saved myself half the fare! Imagine, Frankfurt-Manila-Frankfurt on Lufthansa for just around 350 euro, inclusive of taxes and charges! That’s almost a third of the published airfare on the Lufthansa website, and would never have made it on the radar of my travel agent specializing on airfares to Asia!

How about you? Where do you get cheaper airfares? Online or travel agent? Have you found good airfare deals from airfare aggregators? Which one?
