Don Muang Airport in Bangkok to Re-Open to International Flights

by Ruth on February 7th, 2007

Air Utopia: Bangkok Don Muang Airport Video: NEW!If you’re heading to Bangkok sometime in April and beyond, and you think you’ll land on the newly opened Suvarnabhumi airport, well, don’t be so sure. Just today, the Thai government has decided that Don Muang will be re-opened for international flights. Some airlines will be re-directed back to the old airport to ease air traffic while some runways and other facilities at the Suvarnabhumi airport are being repaired. will be closed for repairs.

It could be that the budget airlines will be affected, but at this point, no details have yet been released. Keep an eye on these developments, and verify with your airline, especially if you’re traveling with connecting flights from Bangkok. You don’t want to land in one airport and catch your connecting flight in the other!

Hopefully the authorities get to update the info on the official Don Muang web site soon.
