Best Travel Experience of the Year
As the year comes to a close, I reflect on all the traveling and touring and sightseeing I’ve done the past year– be it for real or virtual (online, print, or television)– and I realize that nothing can top the one-way trip we made as a family this year from Europe to Asia.
It has been a big leap, literally and figuratively speaking. We’re still reeling, and it’s definitely not from jetlag. Different climate, different culture, a totally new way of life. Sometimes, we travel to places and think, “I wish I can live here permanently.” But trust me, being in …read more

Finding Authentic Local Cuisine
When traveling in a foreign country, how do you know which restaurant serves the best local cuisine? Child harness for Air Travel
A perpetual concern among parents traveling with kids by air is safety on the plane. It used to be that, during take-off and landing, toddlers are given a shorter belt which are then linked to your own (child sits on your lap), but this has since been debunked as it was considered to be less safe than simply holding the child.

I was able to secure tickets with Jetstar’s promotional fares a while back, and barring any unforeseen circumstances, the family will be on a two week break soon in the Philippines.
It’s going to be our first time to fly Jetstar and I’m curious how different it is to other budget airlines plying the Southeast Asian skies. I’ll definitely let you know how the flight goes!
Have you flown Jetstar? Care to share …read more

Christmas in the Tropics, Anyone?
As you all recall, I’ve just relocated back to Asia in June this year, and this is the first time I’m spending Christmas holidays here, after so many years. Hm, while I do enjoy living and traveling in the region, I have to admit it feels strange to be celebrating Christmas at 30 degrees Celsius. It might have been different had I been in a largely Christian country such as the Philippines, but here in Singapore, it just feels a wee bit… unusual, to say the least.
On the other hand, I know of a …read more
