Resorts World at Sentosa
Genting International, a developer and operator of resort casinos in Malaysia and the Philippines, has unveiled their plans for the Resorts World at Sentosa, a project to which they have committed S$5 billion.
According to their plans, there will be something for both the young and the not-so-young visitors. They’d like to project it as a family destination. here are some of the planned attractions:
- Quest Marine Life Park, the world’s largest oceanarium
- Equarius Water Park, a water theme park nestled within Sentosa’s natural forests
- Maritime Xperiential Museum, dedicated to the celebration of the maritime heritage of Asia
- Universal Studios Singapore, featuring 22 attractions, including at least 16 rides, and a ‘live’ studio, with soundstage and back lots for movie and television productions
- Six hotels including six-star ESPA Villas, boutique hotel Hotel Michael, and fun and vibrant Hard Rock Hotel
- ESPA spa, which will also offer, among other treats, spa therapies with dolphin interaction in specially created spa lagoons
There will also be a wide array of choices for dining and shopping, naturally. If you’re curious, you can seeee the complete plan from Genting’s press release (pdf file).
But don’t pack you pack your bags just yet. All these are expected to take a few years to be completed, with soft launch targeted by the end of 2009.
