Natural Calamities in Asia
It really seems the Pacific Ring of Fire is awake.
Java, Indonesia is still reeling from the aftermath of a tsunami following an undersea eathquake. The number of death casualties have reached 550, and relief work is still underway.
And in the Philippines, Mt Mayon continues to spew lava, and experts expect the volcano, famed for its nearly perfect cone, to erupt in a few weeks.
Probably not related to tectonic activity, but in North Korea, the country has been having torrential rains. Hundreds are feared death after a massive flood swept central and eastern parts of North Korea.
Not exactly inviting, eh? Still, if you’re off to these places, stay safe!
