Singapore’s New Budget Terminal
Starting today, Tiger Airways leaving Singapore will depart from the new Budget Terminal. They promise to charge the lowest international passenger airport fees. Passenger Service Charge costs S$7 per person and Passenger Security Service Charge costs S$6 per person.
For those always on the run, or simply those who gets easily gets bored in airports, take heart: in the the Budget Terminal, you can check in up to 30 minutes prior to departure. No more enforced window shopping at the Duty Free (although you might want to check out the promos they have every Fridays), or endless waiting for boarding time. Don’t forget though, that Tiger Airways follows free seating, i.e., there are no seat assignments, if you get into that plane last, you won’t have any choice of seats anymore. Fine if you’re travelling alone, but nasty when travelling in groups or with children…
Check out the Budget Terminal’s online and check out the maps, directions to get there and for location and schedule of free shuttle buses going to the terminal from Changi Airport. There are also shuttle service to hotels in the city for a fee.
