Cheung Chau Bun Festival The Hongkong Tourism Board have designated 2006 as the Discover Hongkong Year and are bent on luring visitors and sample Hongkong’s culture and heritage. For the first time, the Culture & Heritage Celebration will be held from April 20 to May 7, and will showcase festivities related to celebrating the birthdays of Tin Hau, the Lord Buddha and Tam Kung, as well as The Bun Festival of Cheung Chau.

Starting today, Tiger Airways leaving Singapore will depart from the new Budget Terminal. They promise to charge the lowest international passenger airport fees. Passenger Service Charge costs S$7 per person and Passenger Security Service Charge costs S$6 per person.

Pardon the sporadic postings, but I have been travelling across central Luzon in the Philippines and to Singapore the past few days, and have had no time to write anything. Who would want to type and sit in front of the keyboard when Asia awaits?

Starting in April, Shanghai will be even more accessible, this time from Chicago as American Airlines begins to service Shanghai Pu Dong, China from Chicago O’Hare, IL. Flights begin on April3, and introductory fares begin at $625 for a roundtrip ticket.
