Bangkok’s Siam Paragon: Southeast Asia’s Biggest Shopping Mall

Maxam Jelly Tote BagThe last time I’ve been to Bangkok, the main shopping jaunts are the Chatuchak Weekend Market, and the hustling-and-bustling Baiyoke Center. Both are not made for discerning shoppers whose tastes run along the lines of Prada, Louis Vuitton, and D&G … which maybe explains why I have been shopping in those places! I’m your regular bargain-magnet and don’t mind the heat, nor the violation of personal space that comes along with shopping at these places.

But, I’m happy to find out that Bangkok opened what is touted to be Southeast Asia’s biggest shopping mall, a $366 million mammoth called Siam Paragon. From Subway sandwiches to Maseratis, from generic clothing to D&G, Siam Paragon promises to have something to suit everyone’s taste.

Erm. Not that I need a Maserati, but the next time I’m in Bangkok, I’ll definitely be in Siam Paragon… if just to enjoy the air-conditioning. ;)
