Asian Budget Airlines
I myself am already getting confused with all the budget airlines in Asia. Apart from those operating in the Southeast Asia whose websites I frequent in search of good deals, I have to admit, I don’t know much about the other 20 or so other budget airlines operating in South and East Asia. Yes, in total, there are about 35 no-frill airlines flying the Asian skies (including the Middle East)! Amazing, isn’t it?
According to cheapflights.com:
It is the emerging low-fare markets that are fuelling demand most dramatically with discount airlines in Asia increasing capacity by 257 per cent and those in the Middle East by 203 per cent this month.
I wanted to make a comprehensive list of Asia’s “low-cost, no-frill airlines”, including their cities of origin and the country/city destinations, but someone saved me the effort, hallelujah!

For short flights within Asia, personally I don’t mind flying low-frill though. […]

[…] For all the praises I’ve given Asian budget airlines, I’m starting to get wary of their promos. Tiger Airways is slashing 50% off tickets for March flights, if you book now until end of February. Sounds great, doesn’t it? The words SALE and DISCOUNT is enough to make any shopaholic’s eyes bulge and get a -clickin’. […]
