Stricter Rules on Hongkong Bound Airlines
According to a news bulletin I got, effective today, Nov 10, airlines will be strictly enforcing a new Hong Kong aviation security ordinance that lists “prohibited acts” by passengers onboard commercial aircraft flying to or out of the territory. Such prohibited acts are:
Acts of violence, threats and destruction of property against the passengers and crew of the flight
Willfully obstructing a member of the crew in the performance of duties
Failing to comply with instructions for safety precaution and the maintenance of discipline onboard
Behaving in a disorderly manner where good order onboard is jeopardized
Tampering or interfering with any component, equipment or system installed in the aircraft
Being in a state of intoxication onboard as to jeopardize the safety of other persons and property, as well as good order onboard
Smoking in the aircraft
Operating any electronic device in violation of instructions
Well, nothing that sounds new to me. In any airport, I would have thought such behaviors are a given no-no. As the Hongkong International Airport is one of the busiest air hub in the world, the Hongkong Police probably just wanted to reiterate that such offenses are punishable by fines and imprisonment ranging from six months to five years.
So, behave!
