Let’s Visit Asia

If you’re into Beauty Pageants, don’t miss the 55th Miss World Competition, to be held in Sanya, China. The contestants are already in Sanya, housed at the Sheraton Sanya Resort, if you’d like to take a peek at some of the world’s most beautiful women. Tough luck for you, though, I won’t be there, haha! If you can’t be there for the coronation on December 10, you can still cast your votes (will cost you $1 for two votes) by SMS (text message), by calling the voting hotline for your country, or online through their website and influence the list of finalists a bit.

Six ‘Vote For Me’ TV specials will present contestants from each continental zone and invite the global television audience to cast votes to determine the top two from each zone to go through to the Miss World Final where the six continental winners will be chosen, Miss World Northern Europe, Miss World Southern Europe, Miss World Asia Pacific, Miss World Africa, Miss World Americas and Miss World Caribbean.

This is to help ensure that the final line-up is truly representative of the World.

I clicked to view the list of contestants from Asia Pacific, and checked out Miss Philippines (what a looker!). Er, and I’m glad she indicated “student”, instead of “representing (one’s) country” as occupation. Heh? Why didn’t my career guidance counselor ever tell me there’s such an occupation?!? Damn, I’d like a career change. I bet it pays a lot and it looks all glam!
