Asia: A Shopaholic’s Paradise

Noridah Kamarudin, Hong Kong office director of Tourism Malaysia, couldn’t have said it better: “Asians love to shop and eat, and eat and shop. They are among the best retail consumers in the world”.

Just have a look at the array of shopping festivals in Asia:

in Hongkong: Hongkong Shopping Festival
in Singapore: The Great Singapore Sale
in Thailand: Amazing Thailand Grand Sale
in Malaysia: Kuala Lumpur’s Mega Sale Carnival
in the UAE: Dubai Shopping Festival

Let the shopping wars heat up in Asia! Let the shoppaholic splurge! Let the cash registers ring! Swipe that plastic! Let’s go shopping!

Singapore is a sheer shoppers’ paradise, with shopping temples lining all of Orchard Road – the city’s main shopping street. If you are good at haggling Lucky Plaza is your best bet for electronics, Ngee Ann City is the seriously up-market Mall with the Takashimaya Department Store. But all along Orchard Road and even throughout the city you will never be short of shops of any kind.
