Driving In Asia

by Ruth on September 29th, 2005

If you’re a first time traveller in Asia, I would suggest to use the public transportation, or for a bit of privacy and more comfort, take the cab. Even cabs won’t burn holes in your pocket even in metropoles such as in Singapore. But if you’re insistent on taking the adventurous route, well, go ahead and rent a car, but be sure you’ve got a comprehensive auto insurance, and are absolutely sure you know the driving rules in the place where you’re headed. At the very least, check whether people drive on the right or wrong …er… I mean, left side of the road: Especially important if you’re doing cross-country between Thailand and Laos, for example!
