Trekking: Mount Everest
So you’d rather head up the mountains rather than the beach? If you’re a seasoned climber, you must have dreamt conquering Earth’s highest peak. Located along Nepal and Tibet, Mount Everest rises 8.848m (29,028 ft, 5 and 1/2 miles) above sea level. This is certainly nothing for amateurs as it takes at least 2-3 years to prepare yourself for such an adventure. So while I am amazed at the passion of climbers intent on reaching the literal top of the world, I know this is not something that will make it to my own list of Things-to-Do-Before-I-die. But if you’re up to the challenge, then there’s good news: one of the most comprehensive collection of facts, stories, tips and links about Mount Everest Expeditions can be found mounteverest.net, compiled by climbers themselves! Go get high!

Cool blog, Ruth! I’ve always dreamed of trekking the foothills of the Himalayas. I think there are even some offered that combine the treks with yoga. But I know I would never want to try climbing Mt. Everest. Just reading John Krakauer’s book, Into Thin Air, was enough for me!
